Why Solace Care

Across Africa, care is far from most people.

Specialists are few and mostly in big cities, and many people never ask for help because of distance, cost or stigma. Take Cameroon, where we start:

<500

mental-health specialists for nearly 28 million people

6 of 20

health districts in the West Region offer mental-health care

How it works

From "I need help" to a session in minutes.

  1. 1

    Take a short health check

Three minutes of simple questions point you to the right kind of specialist. Or search on your own.

  2. 2

    See your matches

Every specialist is verified. You see their languages, experience and price before you choose.

  3. 3

    Pick language and time

Choose English or French, audio or video, and a time that suits you. Pay by mobile money.

  4. 4

    Talk in private

Your session is end-to-end encrypted, and audio keeps going on a weak connection.

Built for Africa

Made for shared phones, weak networks and mobile money.

Your language

Every screen in English and French to start, with more languages as we grow. Specialists declare the languages they counsel in, and we check them at interview.

Light on data

Audio-first sessions that hold up on 3G, and photos only on Wi-Fi by default.

Mobile Money

Pay with the mobile money you already use, such as MTN MoMo or Orange Money, or a card. You see the full price before you book.

No account to start

A first name or nickname is enough to book. No legal name, no paperwork.

Between sessions

Tracking that helps you notice, and AI that helps your specialist.

With a free account you can keep a daily check-in of mood and sleep, track your cycle and PCOS symptoms, and see your trends. Your specialist sees them only if you say yes.

  • Daily check-in: mood, sleep and a private note
  • PCOS and cycle tracking
  • Trends over two weeks, a month or three months
  • AI drafts session notes your specialist edits and signs

Questions people ask

Is Solace Care available now?

We are finishing the app and recruiting our first specialists. Join the waitlist and we will tell you the day you can book, by WhatsApp, SMS or email.

Do I need an account?

No. You can book with a first name or nickname and a phone number. An account adds tracking and your session history.

Who are the specialists?

Licensed psychologists, psychiatrists, counsellors and other mental-health professionals, starting with those licensed in Cameroon. Each one passes ID, diploma and licence checks and an interview before their profile goes live.

Will anyone know I use it?

Only if you tell them. Texts and notifications never name a condition or a specialist, the app can be locked, and its name on your phone is neutral.

Is this for emergencies?

No. If you or someone near you is in danger, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest hospital. The app's urgent help screen lists numbers that work offline.
